The three pillars to an ABSolutely Lean body are nutrition, exercise, and water.

Nutrition and exercise are tied for a close second on the health totem pole, but hydration is the most important factor.

If you enjoy the ideas of long-term health, strong cognitive and organ function, anti-aging, great looking skin, sustained energy levels, not overeating, improved physical performance, and fat loss…

Then you should like water a whole lot more

Getting ABSolutely Lean begins and ends with getting healthy. And that’s why water is your #1 partner for losing weight, feeling great, and becoming ABSolutely Lean!

So, let’s discuss this abundant resource, because almost everyone abundantly gets it wrong…

Breaking Through Plateaus with H2O

So, you’re eating right…

And you’re slowly, but surely moving away from the dark side of 60 minute cardio…

But, you’ve hit a plateau…

The Force is in you young Skywalker…

And in your water bottle!

Your body uses fat to maintain hydration in some life or death situations…

And while tipping the scale does occasionally feel like life or death…

It’s very tough to become so dehydrated that your body will rely on fat to hydrate itself for survival

But being dehydrated on a regular basis makes your body super nervous about letting go of your unwanted fat cells…

It’s like that box of crap you’ve got in storage

You really don’t need it, but you’re compelled to keep it… Just in case, right?

When you’re dehydrated on a regular basis, your body is obsessively compelled to hold on to body fat…

It’s a survival thing. Your body doesn’t know water flows like a river from your kitchen sink, shower, and hose whenever you want, for as long as you want.

And when it comes to survival, your body plays it safe every time without exception… Even if you pinky promise to be better about your hydration.

“Well… We’re a little low on water, so we’re holding on to this extra fat for now.”

Just in case…

The reason we never reach this danger zone of dehydration in modern society is because of food. Whether it is derived from that bacon, eggs and pancake breakfast, the sandwich and soup for lunch, or that juicy steak dinner, our bodies will use these foods to extract the water needed to support minimal organ and hormone functioning.

Here’s food for thought. A dehydrated body is more concerned with pulling out the water from steak, ultimately turning it into beef jerky, instead of digesting the food to get the vitamins, minerals, and protein your body needs for long-term health…

When you remain hydrated throughout the day, every day, then your body isn’t resistant to letting go of your old, unwanted body fat from its death grip…

But how do you know if you’re well hydrated?

The quick, easy and economical way is to take a look at your pee. You’re encouraging your body to burn fat like a Ferrari if your urine is clear, without color.

I know… It’s a little easier for guys to check their pee color as it’s leaving the body…

ABSolutely Lean Ladies, unless there’s an outrageously skilled technique for peeing that I’m unaware of… look for a light yellow when you wake up in the morning and clear the rest of the day.

If there is a hint of yellow left in the bowl, then you’re too dehydrated and your body is gripping your love handles and won’t let ’em go. To be burning fat like a female Ferrari, that toilet bowl needs to look clear when you get up…

Guys, yellow in the morning is ok, but use the same guideline as above to know you’re hydrated. If the bowl is clear, then you’re good to go…

The morning is when your hormones are raging to burn fat, and your body needs water to do that. Go to town on those fluids and jump start your day with a beautiful, natural, hormonal fat burn.

16oz of water, first thing in the morning, will put you on the right track toward fatty freedom.

Stop Peeing So Much!

Drinking more water than you’re used to will cause you to pee more than you’re used to…

While you’re body will adapt to this within a week of increased water consumption, there’s an ABSolutely Lean Tip you need to know about.

If you’re peeing as often as my aunt on a road trip…

You’re most likely low on sodium.

Over 50% of your blood is made of water, but there’s a bunch of other good stuff in there as well… Including sodium.

If the concentration of sodium in your blood is low, that throws everything off. Then when you’re drinking more water to burn more fat, you end up peeing every 30 minutes…

Like my aunt on a road trip!

To stop the incessant dancing around from needing to pee… Add salt to your water.

This can be either iodize table salt or sea salt. Personally, I use both…

The iodine in the iodized table salt helps with Thyroid function and the Himalayan sea salt improves mineral and electrolyte balance. Both improve alkalinity and keep you from using the bathroom every 30 minutes!

If you regularly get up at night to pee, take in a little salt before bed. You’ll sleep through the night like a baby…

Water’s Good!

So, you don’t like the taste of water…

I understand. Use flavored herbal teas, which come in a ton of flavor varieties. Peach or green tea are good options worth considering.

Crystal Light, Vitamin or Smart Water and other store-bought crap like that is only working against you. You might as well say to hell with it all and drink diet soda!

AAAggghhh!!! Don’t get me started on diet soda…

Some people just like that feeling of carbonation in their mouth. I do too. Mineral water or carbonated water is great for this. San Pellegrino is my fav (NOT their Flavored Water), but I also buy the Sprouts store brand.

And guess what…

It already has sodium in it!
