And it’s sabotaging your weight loss…

In fact they’re preventing you from losing weight, reducing health, your immune system, and crippling your natural hormone function.

Plastics and Aluminum

It’s not that plastic and aluminum are bad for your health and weight loss…

It’s how we use plastic and aluminum that’s causing weight loss difficulties!

I’m going to make this super simple and straight to the point.

Hot Bad

Cold Good

It’s as simple as that.

Using plastic and aluminum for hot food and liquids is bad.

Using plastic and aluminum for cold food and liquids isn’t bad.

Unfortunately, storing Hot Food and Liquids in Plastic or Aluminum Happens All the Time…

Recently, I was on a trip for 2 weeks.

In a hotel for 1 week…

At a family friend’s house for the other week…

And I was in unavoidable situations that forced me to eat out more than I wanted to…

Which was what made me realize this post had to be written…

Technically I’m making excuses.

Could I have packed a George Foreman Grill and cooked my meals?

At the hotel, Yes. But not really at another person’s residence…

“The glorious smells coming from my room? Oh, it’s a new incense I’m trying… Chicken curry.”

That wouldn’t work, but you get the point…

Eating right is a choice. You either make a choice and make it happen…

Or you don’t.

So, cook your food

And cook it with containers and utensils that don’t contain plastic or aluminum…

While on This Endeavor Spanning 3 Weekends

It felt like each time I ate, plastic and aluminum were touching my food everywhere!!!

Plastic forks…
Plastic Containers…
Aluminum foil…
Starbucks coffee lids…

Aaaggghhhh!!! It was driving me mad

I accepted what was happening, chalked it up as a learning experience and vowed I would be more proactive going forward.

Here’s the Reason for This Vow of Change

When hot foods or liquid touches plastic or aluminum…

Chemicals from the plastic and aluminum leach into the food!

These chemicals get into our blood, disrupt our hormones, and stop weight loss in its tracks…

Not to mention the negative side effects on your brain!

Higher levels of chemicals found in plastic and aluminum are linked to Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, autism, and birth defects

And it happens a lot more often than you’d think…

Even if you’re eating at home…

Here’s a quick example

Anyone about my age or older remembers plastic mixing bowls growing up.

(Turning 33 this month)

We used them for macaroni and cheese, mixing brownie batter, and mashing potatoes.

Remember that greasy line of stuff that went all the way around the mixing bowl?

It was about half way up or so… And usually had that orangey color…

But no matter how much you washed it…

No matter how long it sat in soap…

You couldn’t get it clean. Why?

As hot food in a mixing bowl heats up the plastic…

The warmth causes the plastic chemicals to mix into the food and the food into the plastic.

It’s like food coloring. They become a part of each other.

And that’s why you can’t wash that greasy line off the mixing bowl.

And the same thing happens to the warm foods and liquids that touch aluminum.

That food goes into your body…

Where Does the Chemicals from the Plastic and Aluminum Go?

They also go into your body and…

They get deposited in your brain, in your fat cells, and other organs…

Disrupting hormones, weakening your health and immune system…

And screwing up your weight loss efforts!

Which leads me to the…

4 No Cost Ways to Make Your Weight Loss, Hormones, and Health Better

1. Only Store Liquid and Food in Plastic or Aluminum after It’s Cooled Down

The only time it’s ever safe to store food in plastic or aluminum is after they’re at or below room temperature.

But if they’re hot, heated, or cooling down in plastic or aluminum…

Like cooking your meats or veggies wrapped inside aluminum…

Or to-go plastic food containers…

Or putting warm food in Ziplocs or plastic storage containers before going in the fridge…

You’re fighting a losing battle…

2. Keep a Metal Fork with You

If you travel a lot, or often find yourself everywhere at once… This is a no-cost must-have.

Whether it’s in your purse, backpack, or in your desk at work, keeping a metal fork around and available will drastically minimize the instances of hot food you eat touching plastic before it goes in your mouth.

Sounds easy… And it is. So pick that low hanging fruit my friend!

3. Ask First. Give Thanks Later

Just being vocal about what you need and why is much easier these days. Not to mention that it’s absolutely free.

Restaurants and service industries cater to so many different requests every day that asking your food not be put in plastic or aluminum containers isn’t a big deal to accomplish.

You can simply say you have a sensitivity to these materials, which can make “miracles happen.” Just be sure to let them know how much you appreciate their help.

4. Bring Your Coffee Thermos with You

If you drink coffee on the regular, this is a mandatory no-cost health booster.

Keep 1 in the car, have one at work, and preferably backups on hand…

This strategy alone will drastically reduce your exposure to plastics… And probably a laundry list of other chemicals we don’t even know about yet.

Such as from Styrofoam coffee cups…

Wrapping Up

Without plastic or aluminum of course!

Avoid hot liquids or foods that have come in contact with plastics or aluminum.

You will expose your body to much less stress
You’ll improve hormone function
You’ll better support brain and liver health
And you’ll lose excess weight easier!

Your body is a Ferrari, so take care of it like the high performance machine it is
